Your Voice
Make a difference, get involved…

  • Student members may hold office as the National Student Advisor on the Board of Directors upon meeting the qualifications set out in the by-laws.
  • In each Canadian S-LP and Audiology University program, a CASLPA student representative is elected. The CASLPA student representative will voice student's interests and concerns to the National Student Advisor who will then relate them to the Board of Directors. Student representatives meet regularly by conference call.

  • CASLPA student members receive 50% discount on their CASLPA membership fees in the first year of full membership after graduation.
  • " CASLPA has signed partnership agreements with several companies, ASHA, Nelson Education Ltd., GoodLife Fitness, MBNA Canada and Hotel Management International to provide CASLPA student members with significant savings and discounts.
  • CASLPA student members can take advantage of reduced conference fees to attend CASLPA's annual national conference.
  • Student members can choose to receive mailings and services from one of the joint membership provinces/territories, at no additional cost. CASLPA has joint membership agreements with some provincial/territorial associations and you will be granted student membership in the joint provincial/territorial association you select.

  • " CASLPA student members have access to more than $18,000 in student scholarships. CASLPA has three scholarship categories offering a minimum of 17 scholarships ranging from $1,000 - $2,500. Applicants must be enrolled in a Master's degree program in speech-language pathology or audiology. For scholarship details and application forms click here.

Clinical Certification Program
Striving for excellence…

  • Receive updated information on how to become certified through CASLPA's clinical certification program. A student membership with CASLPA gives you eligibility to write CASLPA's clinical certification exam. Clinical certification is the highest professional standard as set by the national association of your peers. Clinical certification gives you the confidence as a new clinician that you have the necessary background, core knowledge and decision-making ability to work as an audiologist or speech-language pathologist.

  • CASLPA student members are eligible for the Student Excellence Awards and the Isabel Richard Student Paper Award. For detailed information and application forms click here. Winners of the awards receive complimentary CASLPA conference registration. The awards are given during the banquet at the CASLPA annual conference.
