SUPPORTIVE PERSONNEL
Welcome Message from CASLPA's Personnel Representative
on the Board
My name is Mary Lynn Taschereau-Park and I am pleased to have
been appointed to the CASLPA board as the first supportive personnel
member. I graduated from the Georgian College Communicative Disorders
Assistant (CDA) Program in Orillia, Ontario in 1996 after completing
my Bachelor of Arts at Trent University in Peterborough. Upon
graduation from the CDA program, I completed my Bachelor of Education
at the University of Ottawa. Since that time I have been working
at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario in Ottawa. I work
mainly with the preschool outpatient population both at the hospital
and a community site. I have also had the opportunity to teach
the Clinical and Professional Issues course through the St. Lawrence
College CDA program in Cornwall, Ontario. I possess a keen interest
in the training and effective use of supportive personnel in the
field of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and have been
involved in CDA Program Advisory Committees at two Ontario colleges.
I look forward to hearing from you, the supportive
personnel membership as well as student supportive personnel,
on any issues, concerns or ideas you may have. I am thrilled
that CASLPA has recognized supportive personnel through this
newest category of membership and I am eager to represent and
promote supportive personnel across the country. Please contact
me at sp@caslpa.ca or Chantal
Kealey, Director of Audiology and Supportive Personnel at the
national office, 1-800-259-8519 ext. 233 or chantal@caslpa.ca.
