Governments across Canada are working to improve Primary Health Care: basic, everyday health care for every Canadian. Primary Health Care has the potential to keep waiting lists down, lessen the pressure on emergency rooms and make the system more sustainable.

CASLPA has joined Dieticians of Canada, Canadian Pharmacists, the Canadian Physiotherapy Association, and several other organizations as a partner in a Primary Health Care Campaign being undertaken by the National Primary Health Care Awareness Strategy. The program falls under the Primary Health Care Transition Fund, the same fund that encompasses the EICP initiative CASLPA is involved with. Our partnership was recognized in a four page supplement in the Globe and Mail published Monday, November 14.

The goal of the campaign, which will run until March, 2006, is to raise public awareness of primary health care focusing on the issues of health care teams, information, access and healthy living.

As a partner, CASLPA will help distribute Primary Health Care information through our membership. There is a 3-panel brochure (with tabletop holder) bundled in a package of 50, as well as an 11" x 17" poster, available free of charge for you to make available to your clients.
