2007 Media Coverage
CASLPA continued its efforts in 2007 to keep
the professions and the association, its issues and members
at the forefront of Canadian's attentions. We take a balanced
approach in our media relations, initiating a variety of different
activities that each carries a unique reach into different mediums,
audiences and markets.
What Did We do?
- Held a press conference on Parliament Hill
- Issued media releases and radio PSAs
- Distributed feature articles through the News Canada service
- Provided information or arranged media interviews for numerous
reporters and producers.
What Where the Results?
- Total audience reach of 69 million, 472,390 (almost triple
2006)
- Covered by 338 media outlets
- Generated 363 news articles/segments
- Reached directly into 93 communities covering all the major
and medium size markets as well as smalled communities
Significant Highlights:
- A clip seen by more than a million TV viewers on CTV national
news at 11:00 with Lloyd Robertson
- Extensive coverage by both CBC television and radio
- Two features on the Canada.com website (more than 4 million
visitors per month)
- Listing on the Google News Alerts search engine
- Coverage in every major Canadian daily newspaper
- Magazine features in Flare, Canadian Living, and Today's
Parent
- 6,000 visitors to our media centre
- Extension into non English markets (coverage by Asian, Italian
and Hungarian media).
