WEB SECURITY
We have made improvements to our on-line
payment process. You are no longer required to access a separate
payment page to ensure encrypted security, simply submit payment
details with the rest of your information or order. All
pages on the CASLPA website requesting payment information are
now secure.
You will notice a difference on these secure pages in that the URL address
will have an https://win02.magma.ca/caslpa reference rather than our normal www.caslpa.ca
address. You will also notice a small locked padlock on the bottom corner of your
browser tool bar. By double-clicking on the lock icon, you can read the details
about the holder of the security certificate, our service provider - Magma Communications
Ltd.
The following information is provided by CASLPA's web service
provider, Magma Communications. For more information you can
see their site at http://vws.magma.ca/index_commerce.html
Secure Server
Everyone is familiar with the web these days. However, not
everyone is comfortable transmitting confidential or personal
data over the Net. If you need to distribute or accept confidential
information on your web site, a Secure Server is the perfect
solution. Magma has installed special, secure servers on its
web server platforms. These servers support secure socket layer
(SSL) encryption, the standard encryption protocol used on the
web. SSL is supported in all common web browsers, including
Netscape and Microsoft Internet Explorer.
Security of Magma's Network
If you are directly connected to Magma (from the CASLPA site)
via a dialup or dedicated connection, it is extremely unlikely
that unencrypted traffic between your system and the Magma server
will be intercepted. Un-authorized personnel do not have physical
access to Magma's premises. Magma's switched ethernet network
also prevents any packet sniffing software from intercepting
traffic on the Magma network.
