There's a land where the mountains
are nameless,
And the rivers all run God knows where;
There are lives that are erring and aimless,
And deaths that just hang by a hair;
There are hardships that nobody reckons;
There are valleys unpeopled and still;
There's a land - oh, it beckons and beckons,
And I want to go back - and I will.
There's gold, and it's haunting and haunting;
It's luring me on as of old;
Yet it isn't the gold that I'm wanting
So much as just finding the gold,
It's the great, big, broad land 'way up yonder,
It's the forests where silence has
lease;
It's the beauty that thrills me with wonder,
It's the stillness that fills me with
peace.

Whitehorse Welcomes You!
CASLPA’s 35th annual conference will be held May 19–22, 2010.
Join us in Whitehorse, Yukon and Rendezvous Under the Midnight Sun / Rendezvous Sous le Soleil de Minuit with your friends and colleagues. The most northerly gathering ever held by CASLPA promises to be a valuable professional development opportunity and so much more!

We're North of 60, but only 22 hours away via the Alaska Highway OR a 2½ hour plane flight from Calgary, Edmonton or Vancouver OR 10 days by dogsled from Edmonton! We had more >30° days this summer than Toronto did and we already have ten hours of sunlight a day!

Check out our promotional powerpoint slide show to see what you won't want to miss! (Please be patient, this may take a few moments to load but it's worth the wait.)

View the video of our most recent site visit to Whitehorse. Spring promises to be even more spectacular!
