The executive director has primary responsibility for
the fulfillment of the mission and the strategic initiatives
of the association. The executive director is responsible
for all daily operations of the association, including
the management of all resources. The executive director
provides leadership to the board of directors and staff
related to association operations, board directives
and emerging national issues. She represents the association
and its positions to government and works in concert
with the provincial associations and regulators to serve
the needs of members.
The executive assistant provides administrative and
clerical support to the executive director and the other
staff in all areas of administration and development.
The administrative assistant is responsible for receiving
and redirecting all telephone communication, welcoming
visitors, and providing administrative assistance.

Operations

The director of finance and operations is responsible
for the daily operation of the infrastructure of the
national office, including responsibility for database
and information technology activities. The director
is in charge of the accounting and financial systems
for national office, including financial reporting,
budgeting, cash flow management, invoicing and audit
support.
The membership coordinator is responsible for managing
membership services for CASLPA's 5,000 members. This
includes recruiting potential members, maintaining the
membership files and an accurate database, facilitating
the annual membership drive, liaising with provincial
licensing and accreditation agencies, and responding
to member inquiries.

The director
of communications is responsible for overseeing all aspects
of CASLPA's internal and external communications efforts.
Areas of responsibility include: strategic communications
planning, media relations, marketing initiatives and public
relations campaigns, production of all publications, promotional
and educational material, the merchandising program, development
and maintenance of the organization's website, overseeing
the national awards program, coordinating sponsorship
efforts and managing advertising revenue generation.

The manager of continuing education is responsible
for planning and executing logistics for CASLPA's continuing
education, including, but not limited to, workshops,
seminars, annual meetings, conferences, webcasting,
videoconferencing and ancillary events, trade shows,
as required.
The communications specialist manages all elements of
development and production for all CASLPA publications
and communications vehicles including Communiqué,
the Canadian Journal of Speech-Language Pathology and
Audiology (CJSLPA), monthly electronic news bulletins,
CASLPA websites and social media activity.

The director of speech-language pathology and standards
is responsible for clinical certification, the Canadian
Accreditation of Services Program (CASP), and issues
that affect the standards for the professions such as
ethics, position papers, and relations with other associations
and governing bodies. In addition, the director evaluates
foreign-trained speech-language applicants for membership
in the association.
Director of Audiology and Supportive Personnel

The director of audiology and supportive personnel
evaluates foreign-trained audiology applicants, acts
as an audiology resource for national office, and maintains
contact with related organisations (e.g., CAA, CHHA).
The director also offers expertise and input to the
CASLPA board of directors and committees on relevant
issues such as supportive personnel.
The administrative assistance provides part-time support
and administrative assistance to the management team
in all areas of office administration and coordinates
and manages specific projects as directed.
The standards officer is responsible for coordination
of the CASLPA clinical certification program including
the administration of clinical certification exams and
the continuing education program. This involves member
communication, coordination of exam packages, and tabulation
of all CEE credits.

The editor of CJSLPA is responsible for planning the
annual content of four issues of the Journal and coordinating
the collection, peer-review process and disposition
of submissions, in addition to the organization and
copy-editing of manuscripts, working in close cooperation
with CASLPA's national office.
