Patricia Dillabough, CASLPA Board of Directors
Ontario Representative

Patricia Dillabough, B.Sc.(CD), S-LP(C), Reg. CASLPO

Patricia (Trish) Dillabough is a speech-language pathologist representing Ontario on our CASLPA board. She has over 25 years experience and she is also a member of the Ontario Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (OSLA).

Trish graduated from the Bachelor of Science in Communicative Disorder Program at the University of Western Ontario in 1984. She pursued further studies in speech-language pathology at Moorhead State University in Minnesota in the early '90s. Trish currently is pursuing a Master's of Education degree on a part-time basis through Nipissing University.

Trish began her career in northeastern Ontario and over an 18-year period she worked in the communities of Espanola, Englehart, Chapleau and Timmins. In these northern communities, the work settings were diverse and included a mental health clinic, public health clinic, board of education, tri-ministry team (Integrated Services for Northern Children), private practice including contracts with a hospital, and a Community Care Access Centre. Since the summer of 2002, Trish has lived in Peterborough and worked for boards of education, including the Trillium Lakelands Board of Education where she currently works. Her area of clinical interest is child language, especially in the school-aged population.

In addition to her clinical work, Trish has also been involved with professional activities. She has been a member of local chapters of OSLA in both Sudbury and Timmins; she was a member of the OSLA executive; she was a president of OSLA; and she also served on the board of the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists for seven years.

Trish strongly feels that it is an individual's professional responsibility to be members of both our national association, CASLPA, and their respective provincial/territorial association. She also feels that all members should consider ways in which they can be involved professionally at their national and local levels.
